Florist Montreal offers some useful information for proper care of flowers:
- Home, put the flowers in water temporarily, as they are packed;
- Make sure the flowerpot you have chosen is clean, deep and wide enough so that the flowers can breathe freely and absorb as much water as they need (it is recommended that water has the same temperature as the ambient air);
- To prevent bacterial growth, all vegetation under the water must be removed;
- Using a very sharp knife in a separate bowl full of water (so that air cannot penetrate stem cells) cut obliquely about 2.5 cm from them;
- Never use scissors! The rod should never be broken;
- The vase of flowers should be placed in a cool place, away from light, heat sources or ventilation;
- Around fruit, flowers fade faster because of the ethylene emanated by fruit;
- Maintenance involves changing daily the water fromĀ flower pot;
- If you wish, you can also use a water spray;
- Every 2-3 days stems must be reduced by 2-2.5 cm and what is dry or withered is removed. As the flowers are scarcer, move them into a smaller vase;
- When the roses have faded too quickly, completely immerse them in a container with water and wait at least an hour or more, until the roses are recovered. Cut their stems before putting them in a vase.
